About

Inclusive and Resilient Cities Development Project

The government of the Republic of Cameroon obtained funds from the International Development Association (IDA) to finance the activities of the Inclusive and Resilient Cities Development Project (PDVIR). The principal beneficiaries of this project are residents of under-equipped communities in seven targeted towns, namely, Batouri, Douala, Kousseri, Kumba, Ngaoundere, Maroua and Yaoundé. PDVIR is financing the development of some key infrastructure facilities identified under the Proximity Program in order to effectively improve on the living conditions of the populations of the concerned poorly provided for neighborhoods of the Kumba II Council. The intention is to increase urban mobility. PDVIR project is funding the development of two roads in Kumba II Council (Ntoko Street to the Railway Station, and from Cameroon Street to Hausa Quarters).

Working with the PDVIR and the funder YOP conducted the Social Assessment, conducted a Socio-Economic Studies and developed the Resettlement Action Plan for the project. These studies enabled the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to take key policy decisions concerning the execution of the project in Kumba which is affected by the conflict in the North West and South West Regions.

Transport Sector Development Project - Babadjou – Bamenda Road Project

We play a critical role in this World Bank funded project providing Third-Party Monitoring services. The Babadjou-Bamenda road when completed will offer a means of transport that is suitable for the delivery of goods to consumers. It is also going to transform the subsistence farming peculiar to this area to commercial farming as foodstuffs will be easily and cheaply transported to the commercial centers.

Despite these benefits, works on this road has faced challenges due to the conflict in the North West Region. Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) ensures that the project owner (Ministry of Public Works) and funder (World Bank) are regularly informed on the level of beneficiary satisfaction and security situation within the project.
